BDT Performance
invested in a BA
XR6 Turbo late last year.
As you can imagine, we've made a few
performance enhancements
[Output standard was 180 RWKW and
the mods have increased this to 270
RWKW ] We would
like to invite all BA Turbo owners
to test drive BDT's car and feel the
difference. Just call Paul or Ricky
on 8370 3450 to arrange a time.

March 2007 - Kwinana Motorplex, Perth, WA
Ricky ran his personal best of 5.42 seconds over the 1/4 mile @ 258 miles per hour (this is a little slower than normal because the blower belt broke just before the speed traps).
He won the meeting.

March 2006 - Quit Motorplex, Kwinana
Three Funny Cars were present for the Nitro Funny Car Fury event at Quit Motorplex with Ash Bailey in Chemical Warfare and Tectaloy Coolants Ricky Monserrat running tough mid fives before the
'Monster Rat' made its very welcome return to the track.
The meeting saw the first side by side 5 second pass by the Bailey cars! Unfortunately it came at a cost of unplanned fire, skid just before the sand and some rather large holes in both blocks. Ricky took the win with a hole shot in the Tectaloy Coolants car.
With our recent appearance at the Motorplex we were looking to cure recurring problems, but found new ones. Increased valve seat pressure resolved the blower backfiring on the Tectaloy Coolants car, but new wrist pins fitted the morning of the race proved to be not up to the job, resulting in two rods breaking after shutdown. A solid 3.69 sec to half track would have seen the car back into the 5.4 sec range, but Ricky had to back off after half track to get the car back into the groove. He stabbed the pedal once more across the line, still producing a 5.71 at 242 mph.
The Camaro was set to produce a 5.20 or something close with a 3.51 sec to half track only to have an exhaust rocker adjuster come loose and pop out the push rod, resulting in rod failure at 3.9 sec. That the car still managed to coast to 5.60 left us with mixed feelings.

A replacement block in Chemical Warfare allowed another pass 4 hours later.
Unfortunately the Tectaloy Coolants Nitro Funny Car was unable to return to back up it's first round win.

Chemical Warfare and the Tectaloy Coolants sponsored BA Falcon nitro Funny Cars are presented to the crowd for their history making first ever fuel coupe appearance at WSID.
Ashley Bailey in the Chemical Warfare car, was strong on the hit with a 0.956 second 60-footer, before going wheels up and having to back off. Monserrat, in the Tectaloy Coolants car, after a cautious start built speed to 204 mph at half track before a fuel line broke, causing a massive fire and back off before the finish line. He still managed a pleasing 5.851 second quarter mile @ 218 mph. Ricky received second degree burns to his right hand and was taken to hospital for treatment and observation (in case of heat and fume inhalation).
After learning that there was only minor damage to the Tectaloy Coolants BA Falcon, Ricky released himself from hospital and returned to the track to race again.
Eventually both cars made it out, after lengthy rain delays and awaiting the return of Monserrat from observation in hospital.
Once again Bailey produced a stout 0.916 second 60-footer before both cars tossed blower belts. Monserrat also had trouble dealing with a melted windscreen from the earlier fire incident.
Ricky would like to thank his crew for the amazing effort they showed. Without hesitation they prepared the Tectaloy Coolants Funny Car for the next round.
Other thanks must go to our saviours at Motorsport Connections who went out of their way to get Ricky back on track after the fire.
